Added to this are over 3500 curious people who flocked to the exhibition “From eggs to apples. The civilization of food and the pleasures of the table in Ercolano”, inaugurated just over a month ago at Villa Campolieto. This surge not only confirms the constant growth of recent years, but also the role of cultural magnet of the Park in promoting the entire heritage of the Golden Mile, attracting hordes of tourists hungry for history.
European Night of Museums: A Night Opening Not to Be Missed
The Spring of Art officially begins on Saturday, May 17, with the Park's participation in the 21st edition of the Nuit Européenne des Musées, an initiative promoted by the French Ministry of Culture and supported by the Council of Europe, UNESCO, and ICOM. For the occasion, the site will remain open in the evening from 20:00 p.m. to 23:00 p.m., with last admission at 22:00 p.m. from Corso Resina, 187, at the ridiculous price of 1 euro - excluding the usual free admissions provided for by law. Visitors will be able to explore the Boat Pavilion, which celebrates Ercolano's maritime ties, and the Antiquarium, fresh from a new section with furniture, furnishings, and wooden artifacts that depict daily life in ancient Herculaneum, alongside the gold of the Ercolanesi.
Unmissable Events for a Spring to Scream
After the European Night, the calendar lights up with a series of guided tours, workshops and experiential itineraries managed by CoopCulture, all linked to the exhibition “From eggs to apples. The civilization of food and the pleasures of the table in Ercolano” at Villa Campolieto. It starts on Sunday 18 May, International Museum Day, with visits at 10:30 and 12:00 to admire organic finds, tools and objects that reveal the art of eating in ancient times. At 11:45, an animated reading entitled “Panem et Condimenta: recipes, remedies and curiosities” will catapult the public into a journey through ancient flavors inspired by authors such as Cato, Galen and Pliny. They then continue on 2 June with integrated visits to the Park, followed by events such as “Amphorae and glasses”, “A board game”, the “Ab ovo… usque ad mala” workshop and the “Cibus” itinerary.
All activities can be booked for groups and schools, with prices starting from 8,00 euros for the visit with animated reading (excluding exhibition ticket) and 15,00 euros for the integrated itinerary (excluding exhibition and Park tickets).
