Yesterday afternoon, 6 July 2018, following several reports received at the Police Headquarters for an alleged drug dealing activity in the area between Via Calenda and Via Laspro in Salerno, staff of State Police of the Flying Squad – “Falchi” Section, carried out a targeted stakeout and control service in the area. In via De Caro, a road that connects via Calenda with via Laspro, a young man was noticed, sitting on a bench next to a Suzuki motorcycle, who was looking around cautiously. The officers immediately stopped him and identified him as SA, 18 years old, with no criminal record. Following the subsequent check, 9 pieces of hashish, wrapped in baking paper, for a total weight of 12,372 grams, were found inside the helmet in his possession, precisely between the padding and the external shell. Furthermore, three sets of keys were found on the young man and, when questioned by the police, he claimed that one was for his current home, one for the house he was moving from, and the third was for a garage he had at his disposal. Searches were then carried out in the indicated locations, at the end of which another narcotic substance of the hashish type was found and seized for a total weight of 47 grams, two electronic scales, material for packaging doses to be sold, the sum of approximately 5.000 euros, three handwritten sheets reporting the sums of money from the sale of narcotic substances. After the formal procedures, the young man was arrested for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing and placed under house arrest at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, pending the direct trial scheduled for this morning.
