The trial of Pietro Cuozzo, 56 years old, from Rotondi, accused of escaping from house arrest and defended by the lawyer Vittorio Fucci, was held before the Court of Appeal of Naples.
In particular, Cuozzo had been sentenced, in the first instance, by the Court of Avellino, in 2020, to a year and a half of imprisonment, because he was held responsible for the crime of evading house arrest, committed in December 2017, when he was, in fact, restricted to house arrest following a provision of the Review Court of Naples.
The Attorney General, on appeal, had requested confirmation of the conviction, while the Court of Appeal, accepting the thesis of the lawyer Fucci, acquitted Cuozzo.
