Caivano. The Carabinieri of the Caivano company combed the Bronx neighborhood during the night between Friday and Saturday, carrying out numerous searches of blocks of buildings.
The goal was only one: to track down weapons and drugs that, as often happens in these areas, are hidden in unthinkable nooks and crannies to escape controls.
Weapons, ammunition and fake license plates in elevator shafts
The Carabinieri's intuition was rewarded: during the operations, also carried out with the support of the rapid response units of the provincial command of Napoli, 10 9×21 caliber bullets, two knuckledusters and four colored paper plates were found in the elevator shafts.
The latter were presumably used to cover the “clean” license plates of vehicles used during the commission of crimes.
In addition to the weapons, the Carabinieri also found two electric deterrents, 50 blank rounds of ammunition and a precision scale, used for packaging doses of drugs.
Checks also for the highway code
The Carabinieri operation was not limited to the search for weapons and drugs. Checks were also carried out to ensure compliance with the Highway Code, with the identification of 147 people on board 93 vehicles.
A sign of presence against crime
The Bronx operation is a strong signal of the presence of the State on the territory and of the commitment of the Carabinieri in fighting crime and ensuring the safety of citizens.
Sensitive areas under close surveillance
The intervention in Caivano is only the latest in a series of operations that the Carabinieri are conducting in sensitive areas of Campania to combat crime. The goal is to nip illegal activities in the bud and guarantee the safety of citizens.
