World-famous pop superstar Taylor Swift took to Instagram to announce her support for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in November, shortly after her televised debate with Donald Trump on ABC.
“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election. I support @kamalaharris because she is fighting for the rights and causes that I think are crucial. I see her as a decisive and capable leader, and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we allow calm rather than chaos to lead.
I was very touched by her choice of Tim Walz as her running mate, who has been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, in vitro fertilization, and women’s right to their own bodies for decades,” Swift explained.
“I followed the debate tonight like many of you,” he wrote, referring to the Harris-Trump debate. “If you haven’t already, now is a great time to educate yourself on the issues being debated and where the candidates stand,” he continued.
“As a voter, I make it a point to educate myself as much as I can about their policy proposals and plans for the country. Recently, I learned of an AI version of myself falsely endorsing Trump on their website, which scared me about AI and the dangers of misinformation.
This has convinced me to be clear about my true electoral plans. The best way to fight misinformation is with the truth. I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
Swift also said she was “encouraged and impressed” by the choice of Tim Walz as her running mate, who has been an advocate for the rights mentioned for years. “I did my research and made my decision.
