Destinations and Preferences

Significant data emerge from the Confcommercio Tourism Observatory in collaboration with SWG: holidays abroad double compared to 2022, with Spain at the top of the list, followed by France and Great Britain. For New Year's Eve, 27% of Italians will choose a large city or a city of art, while 23% will opt for the mountains.

Stays and Motivations

Among those who choose a holiday of at least 5 nights, a quarter will go abroad. Short stays predominate, with 52% of those leaving for the Epiphany long weekend planning no more than 2 nights. Among those who will not travel, 20% attribute this choice to economic reasons, while 13% link it to the lack of holidays.

  1. It's interesting to see how people travel so much during the holidays, but also a little worrying about the rising costs. Holidays abroad are on the rise, but I don't know if everyone can afford it.
