Scandal in the evening of Lecce Calcio, which decided to exclude the defender Andy Pelmard from the first team roster after a serious episode that occurred yesterday evening. The player, formerly of Basel, was stopped by the police for drunk driving and resisting a public official, with the consequent withdrawal of his license.
The incident occurred at the end of the social dinner organized by the Giallorossi club to celebrate the upcoming Christmas holidays. After the event, Pelmard was the protagonist of a chase through the streets of the city, which culminated with his arrest by the police. The footballer had not stopped at the police checkpoint, behavior that aggravated his position. He was subsequently taken to the police station, formalized the charges, and after a few hours he was released.
The company's reaction was not long in coming. With an official statement, US Lecce distanced itself from the incident: “In light of the events that occurred yesterday evening, the US Lecce firmly condemns the behaviour of its player Andy Pelmard, as it does not conform to the behavioural guidelines dictated by the club". The note continues by specifying that the club has ordered the immediate exclusion of the player from the first team, pending further investigation. Furthermore, it reserves the right to adopt any disciplinary measures.

It's a shame that a player like Pelmard has come to this, I don't understand how someone can do certain things after a dinner. The club did well to make a decision on the matter, but I hope he recovers.
