On the occasion of the event “Salerno Città dell'Accoglienza – 10 years after the first landing”, organized by the Municipality of Salerno, tomorrow evening at the Stazione Marittima, the civil theater work “26 – Come in Mare Così in Terra” will be revived. This project was born in memory of the tragic landing of November 5, 2017.
The Opera
The initiative, created by the Order of Journalists of Campania in collaboration with the Equal Opportunities Commission, sees the participation of over 50 journalists. The work is inspired by the dramatic landing of the bodies of 26 young women in the Mediterranean, and through a series of monologues, intends to expose the hopes and stories of the victims within a migratory context. Among the collaborators, the journalist Concita De Luca stands out, who coordinated the project together with other writing professionals, with twenty-six monologues interpreted by as many journalists.
Artistic Collaborations
The performance is enriched by significant artistic contributions. Antonella Iannone and Virna Prescenzo provided artistic consultancy, while Carla Avarista provided theatrical consultancy. The songs will be accompanied by local dancers and original music composed by Max Maffia. The artist Olga Marciano created the symbolic image of the event, taken from her painting “Safiya”. The opening speeches of the evening will be entrusted to Ottavio Lucarelli, president of the Order of Journalists of Campania, and Titti Improta, president of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the ODG Campania.
