The Civil Protection of the Campania Region, following the assessments of the functional center, has issued a weather alert for yellow level thunderstorms. From 9 am tomorrow, Saturday 14 December, to 9 am the day after tomorrow, Sunday 15 December, the arrival of a new disturbance is expected with heavy rainfall over most of the territory and a localized hydrogeological risk.
These are the areas affected: 1 (Piana Campana, Napoli, Islands, Vesuvian Area); 2 (Upper Volturno and Matese), 3 (Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, Sarno Mountains and Picentini Mountains); 5 (Tusciano and Upper Sele); 6 (Sele Plain and Upper Cilento); 8 (Lower Cilento)
. Flooding, overflowing, runoff, rising water levels of watercourses, rockfall and landslides will be possible given the fragility of the territories. Due to soil saturation, landslides and rockfalls will be possible even in the absence of new precipitation.
Civil Protection reminds the mayors of all CAMPANIA to activate the Municipal Operations Centers (Coc) and to implement all the measures provided for by their respective civil protection plans.
