The “Accogliere ad Arte” project, launched in 2016, has involved over 1.800 professionals in the hospitality and transportation sectors in Naples, with the aim of providing a deeper understanding of the city’s cultural heritage. Thanks to the support of the Campania Region and the direction of Progetto Museo, the initiative has conducted more than 400 guided tours of the city’s artistic sites. This experience has allowed participants to become cultural ambassadors for residents and tourists. Awarded in 2019 by Federculture, the initiative has now extended its footprint to locations such as Matera and Brindisi.
Welcoming with Art: Homage to Salvatore Di Giacomo
The seventh edition of the project is dedicated to Salvatore Di Giacomo, to commemorate the 90th anniversary of his death. The event takes the form of a widespread conference, with the inaugural day scheduled for December 13, 2024 at the Church of Santa Maria delle Anime del Purgatorio in Arco. During the event, the poet's artistic production and his connections with Naples will be analyzed. Speakers include Matteo Palumbo, Cristina Pucci and Francesca Amirante, president of Progetto Museo.
Cultural Events in Honor of Di Giacomo
A series of events will take place in several locations significant to Di Giacomo in the city of Naples. On December 14, the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella will host an event focused on the connection between Di Giacomo and music, while on December 15, at Villa Floridiana, a collection of love letters between Ferdinand I and Lucia Migliaccio, curated by Di Giacomo, will be presented. These letters will offer a new perspective on Neapolitan culture of the past. The event will conclude on December 16 with a tour of the places immortalized in Di Giacomo's short stories, starting from the Church of Sant'Aniello a Caponapoli, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the settings of his works such as “Assunta Spina,” and rediscover the Naples of the alleys.
