Roccaraso, Abruzzo, saw a boom in attendance, with approximately 10 tourists, many arriving aboard 220 buses from Naples and the surrounding area, flocking to the Aremogna ski resort.

The massive influx caused slowdowns and disruptions along state road 17, with queues that extended into the town centre.

To manage the situation, the Carabinieri of the Castel di Sangro company intervened, coordinated by Captain Giuseppe Testa, with an intensification of traffic controls. At the same time, the military skiers increased their presence on the slopes, where 180 rescue operations were carried out in the last month alone.

This morning, two skiers were transported to the San Salvatore hospital in L'Aquila after suffering fractures following accidental falls on the slopes.

The conditions of a 26-year-old Roman woman, hospitalized with a reserved prognosis after falling down a cliff yesterday, remain critical. The young woman is still in the L'Aquila hospital, where doctors are constantly monitoring her health.
