Regarding the wounding of four Carabinieri that occurred on the evening of Thursday 6 February in Salerno, NSC Campania has intervened, expressing solidarity with colleagues and deep concern for the safety of the Police Force and citizens.
Two patrols from the Radiomobile Section intervened in the eastern part of the city after receiving a report of a suspicious car and, once on site, the military immediately identified a man on board an Alfa Mito with his face covered.
Suspecting a connection with some apartment burglaries, the carabinieri attempted a check.
Initially barricaded in the car, the man, of Albanian nationality, subsequently ran over a soldier and rammed a second Gazelle that arrived.
Despite the violence of the impact, the carabinieri managed to stop and arrest the attacker.
During the search, radio transmitters, balaclavas, burglary materials and a ready-to-use 7.65 pistol were found.
Of the four wounded soldiers, one received a twenty-day prognosis; the other three, however, suffered bruises and wounds that will heal in five days.
“Similar episodes, which follow other cases of violence such as the one that occurred in Turin – comments the general secretary of the New Carabinieri Union of Campania Francesco Napoli – highlight the urgency of approving the Security Decree”.
“We cannot wait – he concludes – for someone to die before taking concrete action”.
