There were 19 road victims in the second weekend of February, from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th, a significant decrease compared to the 27 of the previous weekend. According to the data collected and released from Asaps, the Association of Supporters and Friends of the Highway Police, 9 motorists, 6 pedestrians, a motorcyclist, a cyclist, a tractor driver and a van driver died.
The report also included the deaths of a 21-year-old man, a 72-year-old woman, and three men aged 51, 82, and 88 who were injured over the previous weekends. One accident caused two victims, while vehicle evasion without third-party involvement was the cause of 6 fatal accidents, 10 of which occurred on state and provincial roads.
There were 4 victims in Lombardy and Campania, 3 in Emilia-Romagna and Puglia, one each in Piedmont, Veneto, Basilicata, Sicily, Sardinia.
