CASTELLAMMARE DI STABIA – Chairs, barriers and flower boxes used to illegally occupy public parking spaces have been removed in via Caio Duilio, in Castellammare di Stabia (Naples).
The intervention was carried out by the Carabinieri of the Stabia company, with the support of the local police and the personnel of the municipal technical office. The barriers, positioned by unknown persons with the intent of reserving parking spaces on the street, represented an undue occupation of public land, limiting the availability of parking for residents and creating traffic problems.
The authorities have launched investigations to identify those responsible and combat a phenomenon that is becoming increasingly widespread in several cities. According to an official note from the force, the area will be subject to constant monitoring, along with other streets in the town south of Napoli, to prevent the recurrence of similar episodes.
