This morning, travel along the High Speed railway line was significantly slowed down due to a fault in a switch near the Bologna underground station.
The incident caused heavy disruption for about two hours, particularly affecting trains heading south along the Milan-Rome/Naples route. Due to the critical position of three trains, it was not possible to divert their route onto the surface line, thus accumulating delays of up to 100 minutes.
Other trains were rerouted, but still experienced significant delays. The problem was resolved around 10.50:XNUMX, when trains resumed their normal routes. However, the knock-on effect of previous disruptions continued to affect train traffic for some time.
