Naples – A 27-year-old originally from Gambia, already known to the police for specific precedents, was arrested late yesterday evening by the State Police on charges of illegal possession of narcotics, assault and resisting a public official. The operation was launched in the heart of the territorial control conducted by the agents of the Police Station extensive-Arenaccia.
It all started in vico VII Duchesca, where the police, during a routine patrol, surprised the man while he was giving an unidentified object to another individual in exchange for a banknote. The latter immediately took to flight, quickly disappearing.
The officers, suspicious, intervened without hesitation to stop the alleged drug dealer, but the operation was not without obstacles: the 27-year-old resisted, giving rise to a brief scuffle with the men in uniform.
After having immobilized him, the police searched the individual, finding him in possession of 9 bars of hashish, for a total weight of 11 grams, and 195 euros in cash, divided into small and medium denomination banknotes, probable proceeds of the illicit activity.
The young man was thus drawn into arrest and now he will have to answer to the charges brought against him. The intervention is part of the activities to combat petty crime and drug dealing in the area, a sign of the constant commitment of the police to guarantee the safety of the territory.
