Arzano – On the occasion of March 8, which sees the proliferation of illegal stalls for the sale of mimosas, from the early hours of the morning throughout the area there are checks by the Local Police, to combat illegal commercial activity, tax evasion, illegal occupation of public land, by illegal vendors who have put packages of mimosas on sale from stalls.
The agents, coordinated by Colonel Biagio Chiariello, commander of the Local Police of Arzano, to protect the florists who legally conduct commercial activities "victims" of unfair competition, scoured the streets of the city, identifying the customers who were occupying, without any authorization, public land, selling goods of dubious origin without traceability.
During the checks, which involved several roads in the Arzano area, those responsible for violating the laws on trade and the highway code were identified, with identification of the same, some of whom had previous police records, and who expressed dissatisfaction with the checks aimed at restoring legality.
At the end of the operation, six people were identified and the goods were seized with confiscation and destruction of the same, and fines of over 15 thousand euros were imposed.
The checks were also extended to commercial activities with relative authorization to occupy public land, which violated the concession, and the owners were charged with violating article 20 of the Highway Code, and the revocation of the authorization was initiated.
The sale of flowers of dubious origin does not exclude the possibility that it feeds the coffers of the underworld, to the detriment of honest traders, who often find themselves forced to suffer the arrogance and abuse of illegal dealers.
The operation, which lasted for hours, aroused the interest of traders and trade associations, who expressed their full support for the agents.
The news, which spread on some social channels, on the one hand confirmed the approval of the vast majority of citizens with the redemption of the territory, as happens in other territorial contexts, on the other hand it also revealed some "negative" comments for the operation in progress, and in support of illegal activities.
Nevertheless, the Command confirms the hard line, to protect the activities that with difficulty, paying the due taxes, respect every form of rule, feeding legality on the territory.
