Yesterday afternoon, the Spanish police extradited to Italy Stanislaus Marigliano, known as “'o Silan”, 67 years old, on the run for approximately two years.

The arrest in Marbella and the international operation
Marigliano had been arrested onJanuary 11 last a Marbella, in Spain, as part of a complex operation coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office of Naples, with the support of Flying Squad, from the Central Operative Service and Operational Unit at UDYCO in Madrid. The operation also led to the capture and extradition of two more fugitives, both linked to Marigliano: the son-in-law Michael Sannino, 48 years old, and his nephew Cyrus Marigliano, 24 years old, already returned to Italy last February.
The three were recipients of a European arrest warrant and had taken refuge in Spain to escape various restrictive measures issued by the Italian judiciary.
The alleged crimes

Stanislaus Marigliano, wanted since April 2023, was definitively sentenced to 5 years and 8 months' imprisonment for receiving stolen goods aggravated by mafia methods.

Michael Sannino, untraceable since May 2023, was sentenced by the Court of Appeal of Salerno for smuggling of foreign manufactured tobacco. Furthermore, he was the recipient of two precautionary custody orders in prison for drug trafficking, self-laundering and smuggling.

Cyrus Marigliano, wanted since July 2024, had escaped arrest after being identified as one of the perpetrators of the attempted murder of a criminal, which took place in Naples in October 2023.
The Spanish police raid
The investigations, conducted with advanced surveillance and interception methods, led to the identification of a residential complex in Marbella, where the three were hiding. After a long tailing, in the evening of 10st January, Comisaria General de Policia Judicial of Madrid , Malaga Commissioner's Office they arrested Ciro Marigliano. A few hours later, in the afternoon of11st January, Stanislao Marigliano and Michele Sannino were also captured.
Connections to the Bronx clans of San Giovanni
According to investigators, the three are affiliated with the Formicola-Marigliano clan, active in the eastern area of Napoli. Stanislaus Marigliano is married to Concetta Formicola, sister of Gaetano, Bernardo and Ciro Formicola, historical leaders of the clan. The first two were killed in Camorra ambushes, while Cyrus Formicola is serving a life sentence.
