The Civil Protection of the Campania Region begins the distribution of educational materials in primary schools in the red zone of Campi Flegrei to raise awareness among students on volcanic phenomena and bradyseism.
Thanks to the collaboration with voluntary associations, 400 copies of I Don't Risk School - Campania Special e Us and the Volcanoes, volumes created with the support of the Department of Civil Protection and the Vesuvius Observatory of the INGV. The initiative, part of a broad communication plan on prevention, aims to instill in young people a greater awareness of natural risks. The kit I Don't Risk School provides teachers with tools to develop workshops and educational activities on bradyseism, volcanic risk, earthquakes and floods, including images of real events that occurred in the Campania region.
Teachers will be able to take advantage of online tutorials available on the Campania Region portal (link) and request the support of expert volunteers by contacting the Regional Operations Room via PEC (soru@pec.regione.campania.it) or by calling the toll-free number 800232525. In addition to the volumes for schools, the Civil protection He also released the pamphlet Knowing the Caldera, already distributed to the population during the exercise Exe Flegrei, to broaden knowledge of the geological phenomena affecting the area.
