The preliminary hearing, set for April 8 before the GUP of the Court of Naples North, Fabrizio Forte, will decide whether to send to trial Aurelio Taglialatela, the 19-year-old from Marano accused of the voluntary homicide of Corrado Finale, the attempted homicide of his 18-year-old friend Umberto G., as well as possession of weapons and arson.

The tragedy dates back to the night of September 15, when Taglialatela, on board his car, allegedly chased the scooter on which the two young people were traveling. The impact was fatal: Corrado Finale died instantly, while Umberto G. was seriously injured.

The investigations of Carabinieri, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of North Naples (PM Giovanni Corona), have reconstructed a complex story, linked to previous episodes of violence.

In August, Taglialatela allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at Umberto G.'s home, causing a fire. On the evening of the tragedy, the two 18-year-olds allegedly damaged the window of Taglialatela's Fiat 500, triggering his violent reaction.

After the incident, the 19-year-old went to the police station, confessed to the crime, and was arrested. Now, the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North has requested that Taglialatela, who has been in prison since September, be sent to trial.

The family of Corrado Finale, assisted by lawyers Adriano Cafiero and Arianna Mocerino, anxiously awaits the trial: “We firmly believe in the responsibility of those who are guilty of such an atrocious and futile crime at the same time,” they declared. "This gesture has affected not only us, but the entire community of Marano, which has shared our pain. We are confident that justice will be done."

The incident has left a deep mark on the community, which continues to ask for truth and justice for Corrado, a young man whose life was cut short too soon.
