Moments of tension yesterday afternoon in Corso Umberto I, in Napoli, where a 20-year-old homeless man of German origins was arrested by the State Police for resisting a public official and causing injury. The man was also reported for theft and damage.

The intervention of the agents of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station was triggered by a report from the Operations Room, after several citizens had reported the presence of a disturbing person.

When the police arrived, the scene was chaotic: some people were running away while the 20-year-old was brandishing beer bottles. At the sight of the officers, the man threw a bottle at the service car, damaging it.

In an evident state of agitation, he was reached and stopped after a brief struggle. Subsequent investigations revealed that shortly before he had entered a bar in the area, stealing some bottles from a window and throwing them at the owner and passers-by. Only the rapid intervention of the Police avoided more serious consequences.
