State Police raid in the neighborhood Vicar-Market: A 26-year-old Gambian man arrested after a fight. Marijuana and hashish seized.
An operation by the State Police led to the arrest of a 26-year-old Gambian with a criminal record for drug possession, assault and resisting a public official. The operation began yesterday afternoon in via Milano, in the Vicaria-Mercato neighborhood, during a territorial control service.
During the patrol, the police officers of the Police Station noticed a man with a suspicious attitude who, in exchange for money, handed over an object to another person. The latter, having noticed the presence of the Police, quickly disappeared.
The police immediately intervened to stop the drug dealer who, in an attempt to escape control, resisted, engaging in a fight with the officers. After a brief but intense struggle, the man was stopped and found in possession of 10 packages of marijuana, for a total weight of about 9,5 grams, and a package of hashish weighing 0,6 grams.
For these reasons, the 26-year-old was arrested and will now have to answer to charges of illicit possession of narcotics, resisting arrest and injuring a public official.
