A new seismic swarm hit the Campi Flegrei during the night, with several tremors felt by the population. The most intense earthquake was recorded at 03:04 by the seismographs of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV): a magnitude 3.0 tremor with epicenter at Solfatara and hypocenter at a depth of two kilometers.
About forty minutes later, another shock of magnitude 2.3, with the same epicenter and at the same depth, shook the ground again. The first sign of seismic activity was detected at 02:57, starting a sequence of events that raised concerns among residents.
Many citizens, especially in the areas closest to the epicenter, reported having felt the earthquake movements accompanied by loud bangs.
Le shock they were clearly felt in various areas of Pozzuoli, including Arco Felice and Monterusciello, as well as in Bacoli, Quarto and in the western districts of Naples, including Bagnoli, Agnano, Fuorigrotta, Pianura and Soccavo.
Authorities are constantly monitoring the situation, while the population remains alert in the face of ongoing seismic activity in the volcanic area.
