Summer Concert, a busy schedule of events between July 29th and August 4th
Summer Concert is ready to start with another week of classical music events, spread across the Royal Palace of Caserta, Teano, Casanova di Carinola and Piedimonte Matese.
It starts Friday July 29 (21 pm) at the Archaeological Museum of Teano with the piano concert by János Balázs. For the Pianofestival / György Cziffra Memorial Year cycle, the artist will perform pieces by Franz Liszt, Camille Saint-Saens, Sergey Rachmaninoff, Johannes Brahms, Manuel Ponce and Johann Strauss. Balázs is one of the most acclaimed young Hungarian pianists: he was awarded the Kossuth Prize, the highest cultural recognition in his country.
An exponent of the Lisztian piano tradition, in 2016 he founded the György Cziffra Festival with the aim of preserving and spreading the artistic legacy of the great Hungarian pianist. In 2021, the 100th anniversary of György Cziffra's birth, the Government of Hungary recognized it as an official commemorative event, organizing over 36 events, with as many artists, in 15 cities in XNUMX Asian, American and European countries. Balázs is also known for his ability to improvise around the classical repertoire, making it accessible and captivating to a wide audience, following, in this way, in the footsteps of Franz Liszt and György Cziffra.
Saturday 30th July at 20.30:XNUMX pm the appointment is in Casanova di Carinola, in the Convent of S. Francesco. For the Pocket Orchestra cycle, the Duo Keira Pianoduo will perform pieces by Samuel Barber, Edward Grieg, Antonín Leopold Dvořák and Alexander Borodin. Made up of Michela Chiara Borghese & Sabrina De Carlo, the duo was the winner, with distinction, of the Ibla Grand Prize World Music Competition and was also awarded the Silver Medal Winners – Outstanding Achievement at the Global Music Awards.
Double date Sunday July 31. At 11.30 am at Castelluccia in the Royal Park of the Royal Palace of Caserta regal music with the Twelve Divertimenti by Giovanni Paisiello dedicated to Catherine II of Russia by the Wind Young Ensemble.
Also on Sunday 31 July but at 21 pm in Teano, at the Teanum Sidicinum Archaeological Museum, for the cycle Etno & Colto / Piazzolla &C. the Hyperion Ensemble will perform music by Alejandro Scarpino, Juan Caldarella, Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel, Julián Plaza, Mariano Mores, Jakob Gade, Angel Gregorio Villoldo, Osvaldo Pugliese and Juan Carlos Cobian. Composed of Nicolas Maceratesi bandoneon, Roberto Piga violin, Bruno Fiorentini flute, Guido Bottaro piano, Danilo Grandi double bass and Hernan Godoy voice, the ensemble that was formed in 1992, is dedicated to the diffusion of Piazzolla's music and Tango in general, both contemporary and traditional. It has performed over a thousand concerts in Festivals and Theaters around the world.
Back on stage Tuesday August 2 (21 pm) in Piedimonte Matese, at the S. Domenico Complex, for the Belcanto & Virtuosity cycle, the Duo Colbran will perform, composed of Giulia Lepore soprano & Alba Brundo harp. The duo offers repertoires ranging from chamber opera to folk-inspired pieces of the twentieth century. Thursday 4 August (21 pm), the Duo Colbran concert will be repeated in Casanova di Carinola, in the Convent of S. Francesco.
The Festival is organized with the contribution of the MIC – Directorate General of Entertainment and the Campania Region pursuant to the Ministerial Decree of 27 July 2017 and the former LR 6/2007. It is part of the national and regional cultural network of Aiam and Mede and benefits from the collaboration of the Regional Directorate of Museums of Campania, the Municipalities of Piedimonte Matese and Carinola and various cultural organizations: the Sidicina Association of Friends of the Teano Museum, the Club for UNESCO of Caserta, the Pro loco of Carinola, the Association of Friends of S. Francesco and Musicalia of Aversa.
