The arrest of the 17-year-old boy believed to be involved in last Wednesday's shooting in Sant'Anastasia in which a ten-year-old girl was injured in the head and is still in intensive care at the Santobono pediatric hospital. The parents were also hit in the same circumstance, but more lightly, while they were eating ice cream with their daughter outside a bar.

The boy had presented himself to the Carabinieri on the same evening of Wednesday accompanied by his lawyer after a 19-year-old, Emanuele Civita, had also turned himself in. The minor was arrested on charges of attempted murder and illegal possession of a weapon in competition.

According to the investigators' reconstruction, he was with Civita (also arrested in the afternoon for the same crimes), riding a scooter, when they fired at least ten gunshots in a square in Sant'Anastasia where there were citizens and customers of some bars and ice cream shops. The decision on the validation of the 19-year-old involved is now awaited.
