A former betting agency confiscated from organised crime will become a place for social purposes, as established by the City Council of San Giorgio a Cremano. The announcement was made by the mayor of the Vesuvian municipality Giorgio Zinno who went to the premises of the structure in via Galante this morning for an inspection.
“We are – said the mayor – one of the few municipalities that to date has assigned all the assets seized from crime and entered into the possession of the administration”. “Before this last place in via Galante we created the Anti-Violence Help Desk and the Maria Shelter for Abused Women in two apartments, while another four in via Cappiello and in via Don Morosini were assigned as public housing to families who were on the list to receive a house”.
The confiscated assets are reused by looking at the needs of the territory, both through social services aimed at people in difficulty as in the case of the Anti-Violence Center, and through assignment to indigent families. "This is possible thanks to teamwork aimed at helping fellow citizens and restoring legality. Driven by these principles, we will continue on this path to leave no one behind and continue to fight every form of illegality".
