Michele Di Bari, the new prefect of Naples, met today with the heads of the police force, the mayor Gaetano Manfredi and Archbishop Battaglia.
“Security, the fight against degradation and social issues are the three priorities on which I will focus, in continuity with the excellent work done by my predecessor Claudio Palomba,” said Di Bari.
In particular, the prefect announced that the first committee for public order and safety will be convened on Monday in view of the holidays.
“Juvenile crime is not the only emergency in Naples,” added Di Bari. “Young people need rules to be respected and opportunities.”
On the dissolution of several municipal administrations, Di Bari declared that it was a question of “rules not respected”.
“The community must grow in harmony and we must create the conditions to leave no one behind,” concluded the prefect.
