The Carabinieri of the Pianillo Station of agerola they executed a prison order issued by the Court of Torre Annunziata against Vincenzo Gentile, 51 years old, son of Giuseppe and considered the boss of the drug traffickers of the Lattari Mountains.
The 8-year sentence was established for his involvement in cases of extortion aggravated by mafia methods, which occurred in the municipalities of Agerola and Pimonte between 2018 and 2019.
The action of the Carabinieri was part of an investigation conducted by the operational section of Castellammare di Stabia, with the coordination of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Naples.
The investigations began after the murder of Filippo Sabatino, a man from the Afeltra Di Martino clan, which occurred on May 3, 2018 in Gesinella, Pimonte.
The investigations revealed a system of extortion carried out by individuals linked to the “Gentile” clan, who forced traders and entrepreneurs in the Monti Lattari area to purchase products at inflated prices that were disproportionate to their market value.
Gentile, already under precautionary measures in prison, will now have to face the fulfillment of an 8-year prison sentence.
