Naples. A 37-year-old Neapolitan man with a criminal record was arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of attempted aggravated robbery and serious bodily harm against a 29-year-old man from the Pendino neighborhood.
The attack occurred on the night of June 7. The 37-year-old, with his face covered by a balaclava and helmet, attempted to rob the 29-year-old with a large kitchen knife.
When the victim refused, the robber stabbed him several times, one of which was to the right cheekbone, where doctors later removed a fragment of the blade.
After the attack, the 37-year-old fled in the direction of Via Soprammuro, but fell off the scooter into a parked car. Abandoning his helmet, neck warmer, knife and gloves, he got back on the vehicle and drove away.

The victim was rescued by some residents and taken to the hospital. His conditions are serious.
The Carabinieri have analysed the security cameras along the route of the robber, identifying him thanks to those that film him on the ground after the accident.
Obtaining an identikit of the suspect and comparing it with the database of mug shots, the military identified the 37-year-old's home and tracked him down. The man had bruises and abrasions compatible with the incident captured by the cameras.
