Naples – This morning, the inauguration ceremony for the new gym, named after Neapolitan sports journalist Alessandro Sacco, who passed away prematurely in 2023, took place at the Salesian Institute "Sacro Cuore" in Vomero. The touching ceremony was attended by Alessandro's father, Pino Sacco, and two special guests: Paralympic champions Angela Procida and Emanuele Marigliano, fresh from competing in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Angela Procida, bronze medalist in the women's 100-meter backstroke S2, and Emanuele Marigliano, Italian record holder in the 150-meter medley, shared their experience and inspired the students with words of encouragement, underlining the importance of dedication, discipline and hard work to reach important goals such as the Olympic ones.
The event was led by Professor Salvatore Nocerino, with lively participation from the students of the Salesian Institute , who participated in a variety of activities during a packed Open Day. Foreign language, science, and physics workshops, as well as musical performances, enlivened the day, offering visitors, parents, and guests the opportunity to discover the school's educational and sporting excellence.
