This morning, around 9am, in via Rio Persico in Theano, a gang of criminals targeted a house taking advantage of the owner's absence.The three thieves, after forcing the front door, they began stealing money, valuables and jewelry. Probably informed by an accomplice, they knew that the house was empty at that time.
After completing the theft, they headed for the stairs to escape, but found an unexpected surprise: a relative of the owner was climbing up at that very moment.
The man, without being intimidated, confronted the thieves, starting a rather violent fight. During the fight, he managed to drop two of the bags with the loot he had just stolen from two of the three criminals.
The thieves then fled, joining an accomplice who was waiting for them in a Fiat Scudo van, with which they escaped. The license plate of the vehicle could not be detected, and the police are currently investigating to identify those responsible.
