Arzano – “Red Code”: journalist Giovanni Aruta arrested. The commitment of the anti-violence association “Donne Insieme” was crucial. On behalf of the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North and the investigations conducted by the local Carabinieri station, which has ordered further measures against as many individuals precisely on gender violence, a precautionary measure of house arrest was notified yesterday for journalist Giovanni Aruta.

Aruta, who also holds the role of director of the monthly Prospettive, a trade unionist for the CISL and a referee observer for the FIGC of the Frattamaggiore Section, was sentenced on 21 December 2022 by the Court of Cassation to two years and two months of imprisonment and to pay the legal costs for aggravated domestic abuse and injuries to the wife and committed in front of the son who was a minor at the time of the events.
Just a few months ago, she had served a three-month suspension inflicted by the order of journalists and the one imposed in application of the Sports Justice Code, by the FIGC. The anti-violence association "Donne Insieme" supports the woman. In a few days, the preliminary hearing will take place which could confirm the house arrest, commute the arrest to prison detention or alternatively the electronic bracelet.
Suspended from the Order of Journalists
The President of the Campania Order of Journalists Ottavio Lucarelli, having seen the precautionary house arrest order issued by the Court of Naples North against the registered journalist Giovanni Aruta, has signed his suspension ad horas from the Campania Order of Journalists in accordance with the order law 69 of 1963.
