Yesterday, State Police officers from the Torre del Greco Police Station executed an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office against a man seriously suspected of the murder of a fellow countryman of Moroccan origin.
The precautionary measure was adopted following the timely investigations conducted by the Investigative Team of the Police Station, following the discovery of the lifeless body of a 34-year-old man, also of Moroccan origin, inside a small apartment in Via Gurgo, in Torre del Greco. The victim was lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
The investigations, which began immediately, were based on the analysis of images from video surveillance systems of private homes, on the examination of computer data extracted from the victim's phone and on the testimonies of people informed of the facts. These elements led to the identification of a suspect, a 24-year-old compatriot of the victim, located not far from the crime scene. At the scene, the agents found and seized a kitchen knife that was presumed to have been used in the crime.
The coroner and the Public Prosecutor on duty intervened on site and, based on the evidence gathered, issued the arrest warrant, which was promptly executed.
After the formal procedures, the man was transferred to the “G. Salvia” prison in Naples – Poggioreale. The circumstantial evidence against him was further strengthened by the results of the autopsy performed on the victim's body.
