The new season of the Teatro Avanposto Numero Zero promises to be full of events, with a major launch scheduled for January 2025. Under the artistic direction of Egidio Carbone Lucifero, the Neapolitan theater is preparing to offer a program that includes seven theatrical performances, book presentations, film screenings and concerts.
The project is also articulated thanks to a partnership with the Teatro Il Parioli Costanzo in Rome, an important step for the experimental theater scene in Naples.
Vito Carnale and the Prosaic
The flagship work, “Vito Carnale”, by Egidio Carbone Lucifero, debuts in January at the Teatro Avanposto and will subsequently be performed at the Teatro Parioli in Rome in February. The show explores the theme of identity through the monologue of a complex and disturbing protagonist, capable of challenging social conventions. The season, entitled “Prosaica”, is configured as a fertile ground for Italian and international experimental theater.
Varied Programming
In addition, the season includes the show “Borde(r)lline” with Emilio Massa, and “Sul sentiero di Ercole”, directed by Francesco Maria Cordella, which explores myth by intertwining it with astrology. Anita Mosca presents “Doppio Specchio”, an intense reflection on the role of women in today’s society. The eclectic program continues with “Al-Ahram”, a reading dedicated to the texts of the Egyptian playwright Mohammed Salmawy, and concludes with the opera “Facchini” by Manlio Santanelli.
Festivals and Other Activities
Teatro Avanposto is also organizing the first edition of the “Constitutiva” Festival, conceived according to the theory of the Constitutive Actor. In parallel, the film festival “Sottosopra” will offer the public screenings in classic and digital film, including “Spirited Away” by Hayao Miyazaki and “Il Postino” by Massimo Troisi. The theater season presents itself as an unmissable event for fans of innovative dramaturgy, with an eye to tradition and an openness to new expressive languages.
