Four people have been identified and reported by the Carabinieri for a series of online scams targeting citizens of the province of Avellino. Using the "spoofing" technique, they sent fake messages to victims, posing as their children or relatives, and obtained transfers of just under a thousand euros.
In total, they stole over 5 euros. The suspects, already known to the police, reside in the provinces of Naples and Salerno. In a similar operation, the Carabinieri reported a Sicilian couple who, by posting online ads for the sale of car parts at very low prices, defrauded a thirty-year-old from Venticano.
