Pisciotta – A 26-year-old originally from the province of Naples was reported by the Sapri Railway Police after a series of violent episodes culminating in the assault on a train conductor and the damage to a train convoy.
The sequence of events
The morning had already started in the worst possible way: the man, in an altered state, had first damaged a train parked at the station Sapri. Then, having boarded a regional train headed to Naples, he unleashed his violence by attacking the train conductor while the train was passing near Pisciotta.
Fortunately, two Coast Guard officers were also on board, who intervened promptly, blocking the attacker and forcing him to flee. The man sought refuge in the bathrooms of the Pisciotta station, but was soon found and handcuffed by Polfer officers.
Other damages and measures
During the checks, it emerged that the 26-year-old had also damaged a car parked near the station. Reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office, he was finally transported to the Vallo della Lucania hospital for psychophysical tests.
The episode, which caused inconvenience and tension, is now in the hands of the competent authorities. The Polfer has assured that all responsibilities will be ascertained.
