A violent fire It broke out late yesterday evening inside a restaurant located in Marina di Casal Velino, in the province of Salerno. The fire, which started in the kitchen of the restaurant, was triggered, according to initial reconstructions, by a short circuit from a fryer.
The owner of the business, in an attempt to contain the flames, initially used rags to put out the fire, but the situation quickly got out of hand. The intervention of the Carabinieri, who arrived on the scene promptly, was providential: the soldiers, armed with fire extinguishers, managed to partially put out the fire and rescue the owner, avoiding more serious consequences.
The firefighters of the Vallo della Lucania detachment were the ones who finally put out the flames, having worked for hours to secure the area. Also on site were the 118 health workers, who gave first aid to the restaurateur, who was then transported by ambulance to the Vallo della Lucania hospital for further medical checks.
Investigations are now underway to clarify the dynamics of theaccident and determine any responsibilities. The premises suffered significant damage, but fortunately, there were no casualties.
