Two companies in the agri-food sector have been suspended sa, in the Salerno area, for the employment of illegal workers.
The authorities reported the managers of the companies. The investigations conducted by the National Labor Inspectorate and the Carabinieri of the Labor Inspectorate unit of Salerno revealed that the employees were non-EU workers without a residence permit.
The companies have received complaints for numerous violations related to safety in the workplace. The lack of health supervision and the absence of a risk assessment document have been highlighted. The fines imposed amount to a total of almost 170 thousand euros.
These checks are part of an extraordinary initiative conducted by the Carabinieri of the Nocera Inferiore Territorial Department, focused on the Nocera Sarnese countryside, north of Salerno. As part of these operations, a 42-year-old from San Valentino Torio was taken to prison for violating house arrest.
Six people have been reported, including a 42-year-old woman from Pagani, accused of stealing cash from an ATM belonging to an elderly woman through fraudulent acquisition of the card.
