Cammarano: “Moving the Pisano Foundries to Buccino is bringing the production chain to its knees.” The President of the Internal Areas Commission meets agricultural entrepreneurs and announces a hearing in the Regional Council
"Moving the Fonderie Pisano to Buccino is equivalent to compromising forever an area with a high rural vocation and decreeing the failure of an entire production chain that boasts decades-long traditions. A very hard blow for 400 agricultural entrepreneurs, whose cry of alarm we want to take up and be their spokesperson. We are talking about an area characterized by virgin nature and niche agriculture with certified or organic brands. Uncontaminated places cannot host the Fonderie Pisano plant, not to mention the establishment of the Buoneco composting plant”.
This is the alarm raised by the president of the Special Commission for Internal Areas and regional councilor M5S Michele Cammarano, on the sidelines of a meeting with the Radici association, in the Municipality of Auletta, attended by regional councilors and members of the III Commission Tommaso Pellegrino and Nunzio Carpentieri.
“The construction of a heavy industry, potentially capable of influencing the environmental load of an area with a strong naturalistic value and completely separated from any local supply chain, is not consistent with the principles of environmental protection and with the economic development requirements set out in the National Strategy for Internal Areas. In the coming days – announces Cammarano – I will convene a special commission, to listen to the voice of the Radici association and of the many Mayors of the territory so that, for those lands, we hope for development and a very different future".
