The suspicious attitude and the continuous looking over his shoulder, as if he were being followed by someone, aroused the suspicion of the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit who, late yesterday afternoon, during a prevention and repression service for drug-related crimes, they intercepted him while he was walking along Via del Lavoro in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, in the province of Caserta.
The twenty-four-year-old Libyan, legally on the national territory, appeared particularly nervous during the check and induced the military to carry out a personal search on the spot.
The young man was found in possession of approximately 140 grams of hashish, hidden in his trouser pockets.
The subsequent house search led to the discovery of three further cartons of hashish hidden in a kitchen drawer together with a precision scale.
What was found was seized by the military.
The twenty-four year old, who was arrested and accompanied to house arrest, at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, will have to answer for detention for the purpose of dealing drugs.
