The Carabinieri of the Castelfranco in Miscano station, in the province of Benevento, have reported two men, one of whom was already known to the police, for simulating a crime.
The story began last March, when one of the two reported being hit by a car while walking with the other on a street in the historic center of a town in Val Fortore. The complainant stated that he had suffered a broken limb due to the accident.
After investigation, the Carabinieri discovered that no road accident had occurred on the date, time and place indicated in the report. Furthermore, the testimonies of people who were in the area at the time of the accident did not confirm the version of events provided by the two men.
