The students of the comprehensive institute “D'Auria – Nosengo” of arzano were the protagonists of the fifth meeting of the “@scuolasenzabulli 2023” campaign promoted by the Campania Regional Communications Committee chaired by Carola Barbato.
"Our institute is very attentive to the dynamics involving digital generations, left increasingly alone with their devices for long hours - said the school principal Fiorella Esposito. At school we try to sensitize them starting from the fourth grade in an attempt to make them aware of the risks of the network and to provide them with a checklist of behaviors to reject or report the elements of alert or danger.
We have the constant support of the Carabinieri who, with their presence, manage to involve the kids during the scheduled civic education meetings. I believe it is essential to guarantee students full time in school so that they can spend their time in an educational way within the school institution instead of that empty and dangerous time in their bedrooms or in front of the TV. To give better educational results and to respond to the Southern agenda, an epochal homologation of the school time of the South with the North is needed.
I think it is wrong and unfair that in our country only one out of 5 primary school classes is full-time while in the North it is exactly the opposite”. The Councilor for Public Education of the municipality of Arzano, Maria Teresa Abate, assured that “As an administration we have prepared prevention actions against phenomena that must be eradicated. The network is important because only by making a common front between school, families and institutions can we make children understand that they are not alone in facing these problems”.
For teacher Maria Martiniello, “Prevention initiatives are important but alone are not enough. It is necessary to implement concrete actions by keeping the school open in the afternoon to remove 'negative' elements from their social context, keeping them in the more protected and educational one of the school.
Last year, 18 students were denied this right due to lack of resources. We will continue to propose extended hours to keep schools open to spread solid values in these contexts”. Lieutenant Antonio Pagnozzi, commander of the NORM Carabinieri of Casoria, spoke with the students and provided a series of useful information to recognize bullying and cyberbullying phenomena in time and to know how to behave in these cases.

Interesting approach of the school to sensitize students on the risks of the network and cyberbullying. It is important to involve families and institutions to address these problems together.
