Scampia “Capital of Childhood” from 15th to 17th June. In fact, the “Festival of the Children's Cities”, the final event of the national project “Ip Ip Hurrah – Childhood First” selected by the social enterprise Con i bambini as part of the fund to combat child educational poverty. The project ends in Scampia (Na) where the association chi rom e…chi no is based, leader of the initiative that from south to north has involved many partners, institutions and schools in 10 Italian regions.
In the neighborhood of Scampia, for this third and final community journey at least 150 participants from 10 regions of our country are expected. The journey began in 2020 and has involved overall 15.648 girls and boys, 23,5% of foreign origin. Approximately 11.347 parents and reference adults and over 80 operators were involved. More than 400 initiatives including courses, events, workshops and neighborhood parties were held on a national scale.
This last community trip takes on the dimension of a festival open to the city, in which the many families coming from all over Italy and from many places in the world, will meet the territorial network of Scampia and the city of Naples within three days of laboratories, parades, meetings, workshops and a final conference. Two hotels are rented in full, a religious residence, with a base camp at the Chiku Center food and culture, many city entities involved in various national plots such as the orchestra Music Free for All– Daily practices to grow together with Suon di Musica in Scampia which is twinned with “TrillSilver” Genoa orchestra.
The closing will be held on national conference conclusion of the experience at the headquarters of the Federico II University of Scampia il 17nd June where the president of the social enterprise Con i Bambini Marco Rossi Doria, the councilor for education and families Maura Striano, representatives of the institutions, the university and the third sector, families, writers, urban planners, pedagogists will speak. The event will be launched there Manifesto for children and the publication of the diary Jotted Down Words – Ip Ip’s Notebook Hurrah.
