Scampia, the "Capital of Childhood," will be held from June 15th to 17th . The " Festival of Child Cities " will be held during those days, the final event of the national project " Ip Ip Urrà – Childhood First, " selected by the social enterprise Con i Bambini as part of the fund to combat child educational poverty. The project concludes in Scampia (Naples), home to the Chi Rom e…chi no association, the leader of the initiative, which has involved numerous partners, organizations, and schools across 10 Italian regions from south to north.
In the Scampia neighborhood , at least 150 participants from 10 regions of Italy are expected for this third and final community trip . The program began in 2020 and involved a total of 15.648 children , 23,5% of whom were of foreign origin. Approximately 11.347 parents and caregivers and over 80 professionals were involved. More than 400 initiatives, including programs, events, workshops, and neighborhood parties, were held nationwide.
This final community journey takes the form of a festival open to the city, where many families from across Italy and around the world will meet with the Scampia local network and the city of Naples over three days of workshops, parades, meetings, and a final conference. Two hotels are fully rented, as is a religious residence, with a base camp at the Chikù Food and Culture Center . Many local organizations are involved in various national initiatives, such as the orchestra Musica Liberi Tutti – Daily Practices to Grow Together at Suon di Musica a Scampia, which is twinned with the " TrillArgento " orchestra from Genoa.
The final national conference of the project will be held at the Federico II University of Scampia on June 17th. Speakers will include Marco Rossi Doria, president of the social enterprise Con i Bambini, Maura Striano, Councilor for Education and Families, representatives of institutions, the university, and the third sector, families, writers, urban planners, and pedagogues. The Manifesto for Children will be launched there , along with the publication of the journal Parole Appuntate – il quaderno di Ip Ip Urrà.
