The new program of the Teatro Aldo Giuffré in Battipaglia for the 2024/2025 season
The Aldo Giuffré Theatre in Battipaglia unveiled its highly anticipated 2024/2025 theatre programme during a press conference. The event was attended by artists and organisers and highlighted the involvement of renowned artist Matilde Brandi in the opening show. The new season is committed to offering a variety of fascinating performances, educational activities for schools and cultural workshops, reaffirming the importance of theatre in promoting culture and social commitment.
The 2024/2025 Theatre Program
The theater season opens with “La scuola delle mogli,” a re-adaptation of Molière’s play directed by Vito Cesaro, scheduled for October 13. Matilde Brandi will lead a talented cast of actors in this comedy that explores love and betrayal, highlighting the moral dynamics of the time. Gerardina Tesauro, who plays Giorgina, highlighted the complexity of the characters during the press conference. The program continues on November 17 with “Due cuori e una cabina,” a comedy by Giacomo Rizzo. On December 8, Enzo De Caro and Nunzia Schiano will present “L'avaro immaginario,” followed by “Il turno di notte,” a social comedy by Compagnia Opera, on January 26, 2025. Other events include “Boomer, un papà sul sofà” by Paolo Caiazzo on February 16, 2025 and conclude on March 16, 2025 with the musical recital “Buonasera a tutti” by Peppe Barra.
Shows Not Included
Two special events further enrich the program. On the occasion of the centenary of Giacomo Puccini's death, “Bohème OperaLab” will be presented on November 9, conducted by Maestro Massimo Testa. Another special occasion is scheduled for April 5, 2025, with the comic opera “La Zeza,” conducted by Dora Liguori, who will return to the Teatro Giuffré.
Program for Schools
Teatro Giuffré offers a program dedicated to schools, with shows designed for middle and high school students. “The Book Thief” will be performed on Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 28 and 29, 2025. “La luna nel pozzo,” a love story, will be performed on February 18 and 19, 2025. The acclaimed “L'agenzia delle favole” is scheduled for March 13 and 14, 2025, followed by a repeat of “La Zeza” on April 4, 2025, specifically for students.
