From the Teatro Mediterraneo of the Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples, the thirtieth edition of the Epiphany Concert. In such a dramatic moment for so many peoples and nations devastated by the scourge of war – as Pope Francis writes – “looking to the future with hope also means having a vision of life full of enthusiasm to transmit”.
Article Key Points
The guests
Also for the thirtieth edition, the musical and television show will be animated by a large cast with Italian and international guests, who will be announced in the coming days, but we can already anticipate that it will start with a tribute to Quincy Jones, who recently passed away and author of the famous song We are the World, which will kick off the musical journey of this anniversary, enclosing in a round around the world the meaning of the musical event and the television format. There will certainly be no shortage of surprises, such as the performance of the most loved song of the moment with Rossetto e Caffè, which since its launch in June 2024 to today has collected many awards with its exceptional interpreter: Sal Da Vinci will be part of the musical kermesse! As certified by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry, this viral success has been in the charts for 21 weeks with a hit among the most listened to in audio and video streaming.
The television program will be broadcast on Monday 6 January 2025, on RAI 1, immediately after the Italian Lottery, directed by Barbara Napolitano.
The event
The artistic direction of the musical event is by Francesco Sorrentino and the author of the event is Giuseppe Reale, who has been the promoter since the first edition with the Oltre il Chiostro odv Association of Naples.
The event is produced by Melos International of Dante Mariti and is organized by the Associazione Musica dal Mondo of Naples.
The initiative enjoys the patronage and support of the Campania Region, the Municipality of Naples and Scabec SpA.
Nativity in the World 2025
The musical event is, as always, associated with the delivery of the annual “Nativity in the World 2025” Awards, assigned for this edition:
– to the Cupo family from Salerno, who have become very famous as a social phenomenon – including “I martuccia09” on TikTok – with whom they decided to tell in a video to their 2 million digital followers the daily story of fighting prejudice for the social inclusion of the “differently abled” fifteen-year-old Marta;
– to NOMEA, founded by Luciano Ruotolo, for his artistic and cultural project, born from the passion for art and music with the aim of creating experiences that go beyond simple entertainment. They are active in Italy, Albania, Spain, Malaysia, China and globally with music competition platforms, dedicated to young talents;
– in memory of Antonio Piccolo, one of the founders of the Oltre il Chiostro Association in October 1994.
The scenography will be embellished by the artistic installations of Giuseppe Panariello, who presents his next project dedicated to the Neapolitan streets of music, by the colorful plasticity of Mirkò's Vietri ceramics and by the Women 100 project by the American artist Ginny Sykes, with which he addresses the theme of the relationship between women and power in an original way. In this regard, the collaboration of Marco Finocchio and the cultural association "Non me ne vado", chaired by Nando Sorrentino, was important.
May the first sign of hope translate into peace for the world, which once again finds itself immersed in the tragedy of war. Oblivious to the tragedies of the past, humanity is subjected to a new and difficult trial that sees many peoples oppressed by the brutality of violence. What is still lacking to these peoples that they have not already suffered? How is it possible that their desperate cry for help does not push the leaders of nations to want to put an end to too many regional conflicts, aware of the consequences that can result from them at a global level? Is it too much to dream that weapons will be silent and will stop bringing destruction and death? May the Jubilee remember that those who become "peacemakers will be called children of God" (Mt 5,9:XNUMX). The need for peace challenges everyone and requires the pursuit of concrete projects. May the commitment of diplomacy not be lacking in building with courage and creativity spaces for negotiation aimed at lasting peace.

The article is very interesting and touching, but there are some things that I did not understand well. The artistic direction of Francesco Sorrentino seems to me an excellent choice, I hope that the event brings a positive message, but why are there always wars?
