Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp have been hit by a significant outage. Around 19 p.m., many users began experiencing issues on Meta's popular social media platforms.
The disruptions include difficulty sending and receiving messages on WhatsApp and blocked feeds on Instagram and Facebook. Numerous users have reported the problems to the site Downdetector, which specializes in monitoring malfunctions of online services.
The problem seems to be spreading outside of Italy, affecting countries such as Germany, Spain, the United States, Brazil, Australia, and Japan. This event is not an isolated case, as similar episodes have occurred in the past. At the moment, Meta has not released any official statements regarding the ongoing situation.
