The demolition operations of the illegal buildings located on the coast of Castel Volturno, in the Caserta area, continue without stopping.
The buildings, seized by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, were built illegally starting in the 1970s, occupying significant portions of maritime state property in the town of Bagnara. A real landscape outrage, which has profoundly altered the territory.
The demolitions, which have started in these hours, will continue at a rapid pace in the coming days with the aim of restoring the natural state of the places. The costs of the operations will be entirely borne by the offenders, among whom stand out members of the family Belfry, close to the affiliates of the homonymous Camorra clan of Marcianise.
Among the demolished properties, many were used as holiday homes and attributable to individuals linked to the clan. The buildings, lacking landscape and building permits, were built in violation of seismic regulations and without any concessionary title for the occupation of state-owned land. An illegal system that, over the decades, has radically transformed the urban layout of the area.
The operation represents a significant blow against illegal building and criminal infiltration in the territory, returning to the community an area long disfigured by illegality.
