Orta di Atella – Five bottles of fine champagne, for a total value of approximately 2500 euros, stolen from the shelves of a Cash and Carry and hidden on one’s person. But the robbery was unsuccessful: a 34-year-old Georgian was stopped by the Carabinieri and arrested red-handed.
The theft occurred in the early afternoon yesterday in a store on Via Massimo Troisi. The owner, having noticed the attempt to elude surveillance, immediately alerted 112. The patrol of the Carabinieri Station of Orta di Atella intervened in a few minutes, stopping the man before he managed to escape through the secondary exit.
The video surveillance images were crucial, confirming the various stages of the theft. The stolen goods were recovered and returned to their rightful owner. After the arrest, the 34-year-old was taken to the security cells of the Carabinieri Company of Marcianise, awaiting the orders of the judicial authority.

It's amazing how some people think they can steal expensive things without being noticed. I hope this man learns from his mistake and doesn't do it again in the future. Safety should always be a priority.
I can't believe someone would try to steal bottles of champagne, there are so many more important things in life. Let's hope that the police continue to monitor these events to prevent similar thefts.
