Maurizio De Giovanni’s new novel, “Volver. Ritorno per il commissario Ricciardi”, will be presented to the public at Casa Mehari, a property confiscated from organized crime, in Quarto, Naples, next Monday, February 10 at 18:30 p.m.

The presentation will be attended by prominent institutional and cultural figures, including the mayor of Quarto, Antonio Sabino, the councilor for Culture, Raffaella De Vivo, and Mariolina Trapanese, president of the volunteer organization “La Bottega dei Semplici Pensieri” and Casa Mehari. Arturo Delogu will moderate the meeting and read some excerpts from the book. The event was organized by Luisa Perfetto of the association “Artemide”.
The Novel and the Trilogy
“Volver” concludes the “tango trilogy,” which began with “Caminito” and “Soledad.” Set in July 1940, this novel follows the adventures of Commissioner Ricciardi, who faces the shadows of the past in the context of the world war. The protagonist is accompanied in his search by his daughter Marta. Casa Mehari previously hosted the launch events of the previous volumes in the series.
Solidarity Commitment
On the occasion of the presentation, a solidarity toast is planned, organized by the cooperative “La Quercia Rossa” together with the guys from “La Bottega dei Semplici Pensieri”. The funds raised will be used for the support activities of Casa Mehari.

Casa Mehari, located in via Nicotera n.8 in Quarto, is dedicated to Giancarlo Siani, a journalist for “Il Mattino”. The structure, inaugurated on May 20, 2022, symbolizes recovery and rebirth, and is managed by a temporary association of purpose that includes several local entities, including “La Bottega dei Semplici Pensieri” and “La Quercia Rossa”.
