The Municipality of Torre Annunziata will join the civil action in the trial against the men who threatened and assaulted State Police officers during a checkpoint.
This is the decision taken by the municipal administration, on the proposal of the Councilor for Legal Affairs Luisa Nastri, during yesterday's council meeting.
Last February 12, during a road control activity, after having ordered a car to stop, some State Police officers from the Torre Annunziata Police Station were attacked and threatened with a firearm.
“Immediately after the events, we expressed our solidarity with the Chief Superintendent and all the officers of the Police Station – stated Mayor Corrado Cuccurullo and Councillor Luisa Nastri – The city's thanks go to the State Police for the work they do every day.
By forming a civil party, we demonstrate with a concrete act our closeness to the State Police. The Municipal Administration is on the front line alongside the police to defend legality and fight crime”.
